A day at the patch with Al.

Yesterday, as is customary this time of year, MP and I made our way to the Pumpkin Patch with Grammy and Poppy.

Shortly after arriving, we ran into one of MP’s friends from school. Together, along with his 2-year-old brother, they were inseparable.

Just like MP’s hand and butt.

It’s the latest phase. The Hand-Down-The-Pants one. It’s constant.

When I asked her to please take her hand out of the back of her pants, she replied with an amiable “okay,” and moved it to the front.

Al Bundy’s got nothin’ on this kid.

  1. What is it with kids and their nether regions?

  2. Rick's Cafe

It’s fun to read about people who appreciate what they have….keep it up.

  3. Thanks for reminding me how much fun I had a pumpkin patches as a kid…my husband and I went to the Half Moon Bay pumpkin festival this weekend and it’s gotten SO crowded and commercial that it’s lost all its charm. It *used* to be like your pumpkin patch.

  4. How can anyone fail to love that kid? Srsly.

  5. Too cute. My four-year-old also has her hand down her pants a lot. It’s hard to know how to get them to keep it private, ya know?

Great pics, your pumpkin patch looks fun. Ours is on the side of a busy road with a flimsy chain link fence separating the kids from the traffic.

Still, I can’t wait to go.

  6. MP Bundy looks like she had a great time! One of my friends quit her pre-school teaching job last year because she got SO tired of saying, “Get your hands out of your pants”, “Get your finger out of your nose”, “Don’t wipe that on your shirt”…you get the picture!!! I guess it’s only cute when it’s OUR kid doing it:)

  7. Seriously. Pre-school teachers have unbelievable patience. I’m in awe of them.

  8. So funny! My son went through a phase of this. He just outgrew it after a while.

    Looks like a fun day!

  9. What’s with the lifting of the pumpkins? That one has me more befuddled than the hand in pants habit. I took my 4 year old to the pumpkin patch yesterday, and all she wanted to do was heft each and every pumpkin up to her chest, then plop it back down to the ground. She would’ve hefted all day!

  10. *snort* Hilarious because it’s TRUE! Now that I think about it, I saw more than one kid doing the same thing.

Hands down her pants or not, MP looks *darling* with her new bob!

Thanks for adding me to the blogroll! You rawk!

I love it. That photo of her with the pumpkin is soooo cute!!!

Sometimes I wake up with my hand down my pants. Seriously. And I’m 31.

  13. That last pic is priceless…and adorable…and definitely one you should show at the slide show during her rehearsal dinner:)

  14. The Bean has just discovered his junk. He runs around with his hand down his diaper pretty much 24-7.

    Kids are funny.

  15. With boys it won’t end. There’s a family joke on my husband’s side that he and his younger brother ALWAYS had their hand down their pants. Still do (no, just kidding . . . sort of?).

Fast-forward to about 2003, and a photo of their kids (including Miss Smedley, at two) was taken. Both of them had their hands on their packages, Smedley’s in diapers.

    Just taking inventory.

  16. “Just taking inventory.” *snort*
